2017 was all right

2017 had we saw a lot of new good content. We saw the return of a king with the Nintendo Switch having a strong showing. In ESports LOL's Faker lost his first final , the last one of the LCS era. Overwatch Pre Season has started and is looking strong. In general the competitive scene looks healthy. Even No Mans Sky bounced back (wiki) to have a respectable showing.

evo Total Prize Pool: $253,000
lol: 4,596,591 1st place
dota: $24,787,916
wcs : $700,000 1place
csgo iem oakland: $300,000 1st place

It actually was kind of a quiet year for gaming. Nothing crazy, but just the opposite actually a lot of solid content in all verticals. Im curious to see how long this lasts. Will professional gaming crash again? Im bullish, we still have Metroid to come out for the Switch and the Overwatch League cant be any worse than it was last year (this is its first year btw). I dont think it will be as quiet or stable but I hope it slows down. There are too many good games coming out and I should do something else besides play games. 2017 problems.
